Rationale:

The ‘Science & Space Exploration’ program was conceived with the aim of addressing the educational gaps in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in the remote villages of Davangere District. Recognizing the critical role of early exposure to STEM education, the program sought to ignite curiosity, inspire learning, and bridge the educational divide prevalent in underserved communities

Alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4):

The project is aligned with SDG4, which focuses on ensuring inclusive and quality education for all. By providing a mini STEM lab, distributing telescopes, and conducting mobile planetarium shows, the program directly contributes to achieving SDG4 targets by improving access to quality education, promoting scientific literacy, and enhancing the learning environment in remote schools.

Program Components:

1) Mini STEM Lab Setup:

Introduction:

Rationale: Recognizing the need for innovative and practical learning experiences, Saare Tare Zameen Par Trust introduced the Mini STEM Lab as a pioneering initiative.

SDG4 Alignment: The lab directly contributes to SDG4 by enhancing the quality of education through hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The Mini STEM Lab, a novel addition by Saare Tare Zameen Par Trust, has successfully transformed the learning landscape. 2) Gifted Newtonian Telescope:

Rationale: Understanding the transformative impact of astronomy on students’ curiosity and critical thinking, Saare Tare Zameen Par Trust gifted Newtonian telescopes as part of the ‘Science & Space Exploration’ program.

Telescope Specifications: 114mm Reflective Telescope

Quality Equipment: Gifted Newtonian telescope of high quality, designed to provide clear and detailed views of celestial objects.
